Virtual Visit Northern Ireland

Great view. I love it. Used to go to the wild strawberry patch just above the hatchet field and visit the curlew nest every year. Never told anyone about that, just in case they went up to destroy it. Kept it a secret between two mates

my dad(jack williamson)came from donegal ave belfast,used to take me up the mountain my favorite trip when visiting my ulster gran,these views havent changed in 59 years,thank you for bringing back such wonderful memories

The Black Mountain holds great memories for me. When i was a child , i would spend many wonderful days on the Black Mountain. The view was magical and the environment  was just unspoiled wilderness.
I remember sheep roaming the summit and wild life was everywhere to be seen. Often we would climb the mountain, via the gully. Wasn't easy, but great fun. Good to see such great work being done on what is after all a treasure, on the edge of West Belfast, for everyone to enjoy.  

A stunning view. In years gone by the hillsides had many sheep and the sound of skylarks filled the summer sky. A paradise indeed for us children on our long summer holiday.

GROWING UP IN BELFAST ,I LIVED CLOSE WE TAKE IT 4 GRANTED THE MOUNTAINS ALWAYS THERE  OFTEN WONDERED WHAT WAS ON THE OTHER SIDE  MY COUSINS GOT 2 THE MAST  NOW IVE JUST SEEN THE BEAUTIFUL SCENE  STUNNING

I am going up there next time i go home! Its true that we dont always enjoy that which comes easy to us. Being away makes me appreciate it a whole lot more.
